The hotels of the Eastern Zone are full25 thousand tourists

BREAKING NEWS :  The hotel occupation in the zone of Bávaro-Punta Cana fluctuates between 85 and 90%, showing a small fall compared to last year.

Ernesto Veloz, president of the Association of the Hotels and Tourist Projets of the East Zone, confirmed that 25 thousand tourists will spend the Christmas holidays in the hotels of the East area, a « good occupation » compared to other destinations, in spite of the collapse of the economy in the United States and other unfavourable effects.

The East littoral has 52 hotels and the number of tourists and the demands remain in similar proportions compared to the previous years. Ernesto Veloz is optimistic as for the course of the season.

He stressed that the efforts of the Minister of Tourism, Francisco Javier García were key elements at the international level because the management and the efforts of the civil servant could contribute so that the Dominican Republic record a growth as in the economic sector.

Javier García works to solidify the tourism in the zone and to contribute to its reinforcement at the international level.

Ernesto Veloz also greeted the efforts of the Public Work Minister, Víctor Díaz Rúa, with regard to the access ways in the Eastern zone and for the building work of the infrastructures necessary to tourism.
