Second Carnival of Punta Cana 2009 starts tomorrowSaturday March 7th

BREAKING NEWS : PUNTA CANA.- With the participation of 50 groups and 20 floats, will be celebrated the second carnival of Punta Cana 2009, organized by the Punta Cana group, an activity that coincides with the 40th anniversary of it.

The carnival will take place this Saturday March 7th at 04.00pm on the Boulevard Primero de Noviembre, and more than 800 persons of several groups will participate too.

The commission in charge of the event promotion invited all the educational centers of the Altagracia Province to send their students in a free transport, as well as every person or family interested in participate to it.

Frank Elías Raineri, Paúl Beswick, Candy Gómez, and the regional director of education, Miguel Elías Castillo, invited the population to assist and support this cultural activity.

The Peña Suazo orchestra will provide the entertainment for the event.

BREAKING NEWS : The the 2nd Annual Cap Cana Championship will be held from March 23rd - 29th, 2009 at Punta Espada Golf Club in Cap Cana, Dominican Republic.

The inaugural event, held in March 2008 at Cap Cana resort, was a huge success in all aspects of golf and hospitality from the ever-welcoming Dominican Republic, said Mike Stevens, President of the PGA Champions Tour.

Our players and our team are eager to return to Cap Cana and continue our past success in 2009.

The event will take place in the Punta Espada golf course. Ellis Pérez, vice-president of Communication and Public Relations of Cap Cana said that the country will be for the second time the center of attraction during a week thanks to the celebration of one of the most important tournaments of the PGA Tours Champions Tour 2009.

The 2009 Cap Cana Championship will feature 78 professionals, including 2008 champion Mark Wiebe plus Tom Watson, Jay Haas and Eduardo Romero all competing for a first place purse of US $315,000 in a total prize pool of US $2.1 million.

BREAKING NEWS : The international company AMResorts and the real estate and resort group Cap Cana signed an agreement for the construction of two hotels at a cost of US $200 million, with operations slated to begin by year end 2010.

The agreement stipulates that AMResorts will develop a hotel of the chain Zoëtry Pearl Sands Cap Cana and another of Pure Secrets, on a privileged location on the resort’s beaches.

We expect Zoëtry and Pure Secrets will attract the attention of sophisticated travelers in search of pleasant experiences, said AMResorts president Alex Zozaya Friday.

AMResorts is pleased to join the outstanding and residential tourist complex Cap Cana and it’s our desire to develop two exceptional properties that meld perfectly with the destination’s natural beauty and ecological approach, he said.

Cap Cana president Ricardo Hazoury welcomed AMResorts and its brands Zoëtry and Pure Secrets Cap Cana. Both new hotels will be a great attraction together with the customized services provided to guests, who’ll be part of the demanding travelers attracted to Cap Cana.
