The Minister of Tourism congratulates the Punta Cana Group

BREAKING NEWS: Punta Cana.- The Minister of Tourism Francisco Javier Garcia, congratulated the Group Punta Cana, on the occasion of its fortieth anniversary of establishment in the country, and said the group was a model of tourism development for the Caribbean region and a symbol of social and environmental responsibility.

He explained that the Punta Cana Group, whose president is Mr. Frank Rainieri, was now one of the most important producer economic resources and employment for the Dominican economy.

We ask everyone to follow the example of wrestlers who for 40 years, as president of the Punta Cana Group, Frank Rainieri, have built a company renowned for its activities, and rewarded internationally, he said.

Mr. García Fernández explained that Mr. Rainieri, alongside his wife Haydee Kuret, now president of the National Association of Hotels and Restaurants (Asonahores), were an example of management development in the tourism sector, and through their actions have managed to Punta Cana one of the most popular destinations in the Caribbean.

In 1969 a group of American investors bought a piece of land of 58 million square meters, the equivalent of 48 square kilometres of jungle, and then joined a group of Local investors headed by Frank R. Rainieri, who developed the area for tourism.

After 40 years of existence, the Punta Cana Group is composed of companies Grupo Punta Cana, Punta Cana Beach and Golf, Aeroportuaria Corporación del Este, Punta Cana Yacht Club, Corporación Turística y de Servicios Cana Punta and Guardian del Este.

BREAKING NEWS: Punta Cana.- President Leonel Fernández has participated Saturday in the ceremonial start of construction of the Project at Puerto Marina Cap Cana, in which tourism and real estate businessmen have ensured that the Dominican Republic was one of the countries attracting the biggest investment in the world.

The Director of the International Affairs Group Velutina, who will be responsible for the construction of the villas of Cap Cana real estate project, provided that the investments made in the country are the results of legal certainty and stability offered by the government.

Luis Emilio Velutina, Velutina Group President, said that in the country, there were few obstacles for investors, and said that more than 110 million invested in this housing project, he also built the Blue Mall Shopping Centre in Santo Domingo.

He added that during the first quarter of next year, the group will begin construction of the Blue Mall Punta Cana, and anticipates the development of residential projects in the city of Santo Domingo and Las Canas .

For his part, Minister of Tourism Francisco Javier Garcia said that the Dominican Republic was among the leading countries in the world where investments could be made safely because there are sufficient guarantees for domestic businessmen and foreign investors.

The official also explained that the government also invested in works on the main tourist attractions of the country, highlighting the fact that in Bávaro, infrastructures are built at a cost of 600 million pesos.

Group Velutina will build on the Herradura island, at Cap Cana, 11 villas with a total of 520 rooms, which will have a strategic position on the Navy housing project, whose design will be the most complete and modern of the Caribbean.
